To live all of life coram Deo is to live a life of integrity. It is a life of wholeness that finds its unity and coherency in the majesty of God. A fragmented life is a life of disintegration. It is marked by inconsistency, disharmony, confusion, conflict, contradiction, and chaos. The Christian who compartmentalizes his or her life into two sections of the religious and the nonreligious has failed to grasp the big idea.
The big idea is that all of life is religious or none of life is religious. To divide life between the religious and the nonreligious is itself a sacrilege. This means that if a person fulfills his or her vocation as a steelmaker, attorney, or homemaker coram Deo, then that person is acting every bit as religiously as a soul-winning evangelist who fulfills his vocation. It means that David was as religious when he obeyed God’s call to be a shepherd as he was when he was anointed with the special grace of kingship. It means that Jesus was every bit as religious when He worked in His father’s carpenter shop as He was in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Integrity is found where men and women live their lives in a pattern of consistency. It is a pattern that functions the same basic way in church and out of church. It is a life that is open before God. It is a life in which all that is done is done as to the Lord. It is a life lived by principle, not expediency; by humility before God, not defiance. It is a life lived under the tutelage of conscience that is held captive by the Word of God.Coram Deo … before the face of God. That’s the big idea. Next to this idea our other goals and ambitions become mere trifles.

We all need to remember to lift up our brothers as they prepare to speak to the body of Christ. I think the more we encourage them to speak boldly from the word of God, the more we will be eager to listen to what we have asked for. When we arrive and haven’t mentally prepared to be eager to hear the message of God satan has an opportunity to distract and even discourage us through usually selfish thoughts. What am I going to have for lunch, I wish we sang (insert your preference here) more and (what you may have just sung) less.
It’s far more difficult to criticize the messenger and message when you recognize you have prayed for God to use the messenger to present Gods word boldly to you this morning.
Lord God, this morning put his eye to the telescope of eternity and let him look upon the paper walls of time. Lord, turpentine his imagination, put perpetual motion in his arms, fill him with the dynamite of thy power, annoint (sic) him all over with the oil of thy salvation, and set his tongue on fire.

Frequently in the past I have looked at God’s love and thought how amazing that he loved me enough to save me, amongst all the others possible, he chose me. This is possibly a common statement among many, beginning to reveal our own dawning understanding of how fortunate we are as his children.
[4b] In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
(Ephesians 1:4-10 ESV)
It is wondrous God made a way for me to receive the “forgiveness” of my “trespasses”, He did it so I could/would praise his glorious grace. All this is according to the plan he enacted before all this began, in the eternity prior, to unite “all things in heaven, and things on earth” in his Son. These are the actions of a being beyond worthy and deserving, by his own purpose creating me to Love and Praise him. You are my sovereign Lord, I will thankfully love and praise you for all eternity future.
